Visionaries have to lead.

 They have to shepherd their flock from their conventional confinement to a world where the concept of limit has no existence.

You cannot be a visionary without being a leader. The very concept of having a vision means that you have to be a pioneer. You have to think about something that has not been thought about and have to implement it. Well, even if it has been thought about by someone before, the difference between a visionary and a thinker is that a visionary brings that particular thing to fruition.

Right from the start, you have to have leadership qualities. When you are thinking, you are thinking something that the other person hasn’t thought of. You are leading them in your thoughts. Later, when you will probably speak about what is in your mind to a selected few people, you are speaking about things that other people have  not thought about. You are taking the lead in this conversation even as you are speaking because you are speaking about something innovative, something that hasn’t been attempted so far.

It is later that your leadership talents will become much more important. This is when you have chalked out your plan and you need people to help you implement them. This is when you begin reaching out to people in real need.

When you get your initial successes, you will find people getting influenced by you. These are the people you can use to achieve your goals.

They will help you if they know that you are earnest. When you begin your journey in realizing your vision, you will find that a lot more people begin following you. This happens because people are getting convinced, and some are even getting inspired. The human mentality induces people to associate themselves with successful people. When you begin succeeding, people will want to cling to you.

At this time, if you aren’t a leader, if you cannot motivate them to take forward strides, you will become a failure. Achieving your vision’s goals will become more difficult for you.

You have to lead those who want to be led.

This is what successful people have done all through the ages. This is what will actually make you a visionary who has realized his or her goals.

I experienced an enlightening moment the other day. I received an email from a gentleman asking me to explain what can I offer him that my business system cannot. Even though it seems like a straightforward question, it is not. I thought about it for a while, before I responded to it. The answer is something very simple, but very deep if you actually go to look at it. From the outside, it would seem silly and weightless, but from the inside it has the makings of a solid foundation.

So what was my answer to that question? Before I tell you that, let me relate a true-life story, which I heard from Les Brown, America’s foremost motivational speaker.

One wintery day, a couple of good friends headed over to a frozen lake nearby to skate on ice. The boys were somewhere between 5 and 10 years old. During their skating session, one of the boys headed deeper into the lake and to his misfortune he found himself skating on thin ice. Before he could realize it, he has fallen through the ice into the icy waters below. His friend seeing this rushed near him but could not get him out because the ice layer has formed back and his friend was trapped underneath the transparent layer.

 He could see him struggling but could do nothing to help him. Then he happened to see a tree in the distance. He skated to it as fast as he could, broke a branch and started digging into the ice feverishly. His effort proved successful and he managed to make a hole large enough to pull his friend out back again.

By the time the paramedics had arrived and taken care of the victim, a small crowd had gathered. They were all praising the rescuer for his bravery and presence of mind. However, they were all surprised as well, and wonder how did a young boy break off such a big branch (apparently the branch was bigger and heavier than what a person of that age group could carry), haul it to the spot and lift it again and again to hammer a hole in the ice. It looked like a super-human effort. How? How did he manage to do it? It’s impossible!

In the midst of all that, an old man spoke up and said, “I know how he did it.” Everybody looked at him in silence. The old man said, ” He could do it because there was nobody around him who said he CAN’T!”

Coming back to the question, which I was asked. In view of the above moral from the story, my response was, “I can mastermind with you to ensure that you reach your goals”. Basically, what I said was that I will keep being positive and never tell you that you can’t do it. My philosophy is based around ‘CAN’ and ‘It’s POSSIBLE”.

As I said before, the answer seems weak at the outside, but it’s filled with fortitude from the inside. But for the vast majority, that answer holds no meaning; sadly.

I hope you have realized that in order to break through the ice you need to surround yourself with people who encourage you and egg you on, even when the going is tough.

It’s a MUST! No one has achieved any success of considerable proportion without a mastermind alliance with somebody else with a common objective.
